Empowering youth through creativity and community

One Foot In – One Foot Out, Inc. blends educational workshops, puppet-making, self-expression, self-defense, and community engagement to help young people discover their Identity, Purpose & Direction.

Who We Are

One Foot In – One Foot Out is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth and at-risk communities through creative arts, emotional literacy, character development, and real-life skill-building.
We merge puppetry, storytelling, movement, conflict-resolution, self-protection, and community building into transformational learning experiences.
With over 20+ years of grassroots service, our organization has created programs that meet people where they are and help them re-write who they can become.

What We Do

We partner with schools, agencies, and nonprofits that work with at-risk or under-resourced communities. Our programs combine hands-on creativity, self-expression, and deep personal reflection.

One Foot In, One Foot Out Curriculum

Participants learn the Identity, Purpose & Direction method through presentations, storytelling, puppetry, and consciousness-based teaching. Students create their own puppets, write scripts, and perform their stories—rebuilding themselves through artistic expression.

The Fight of a Gangsta, The Origin of a Warrior

A program that combines identity development with mixed martial arts and boxing, teaching discipline, self-control, confidence, and the deeper meaning of fighting for one’s future—not against it.

Summertime or Drama-Time

Youth design puppets and engage in improvisational theater to understand emotions, conflict, and different types of drama in healthy ways.

Expressing Instead of Exploding

Participants explore emotional expression, conflict resolution, and managing anger through puppet-making and scripted storytelling.
